I have noticed though the default desktop is fairly choppy even on a late P4 CPU (E series) with a crappy old GeForce 4. This is not an issue or complaint, more likely a sign my gear is behind the times. Congrats and thanks again for another excellent release. After that, I ended up finding your site and got a little confused about why there is a 32 bit version of RC1 and a legacy version of RC1, but only one version of RC2

Is there just the one version (Legacy) of RC2? One serious problem is that the default display manager lxdm has a problem with ecryptfs so that if you encrypt your home directory (as you should with all portable machines), lxdm-binary consumes 100% of a CPU core; the workaround is to install another (uglier) dm such as lightdm.
