So let me make one thing clear for worried folks:
Bodhi is not dead and a 3.0 release will be happening still.
New timelines are still being figured out and when the new folks working on development have their footing fully underneath them they will be sharing more information I am sure. As for myself, I will still be sparing enough time to the project to field questions the new folks might have and provide insights wherever needed - I just won't directly be doing the heavy lifting any longer.

Maybe this one will be short enough for some people to read through to the end and understand, haha. I couldn't get the jumping to "Bodhi is dead" that happened so quickly when you were seeking volunteers and barely any time had happened since. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteGreat work, Jeff. To those taking over, thanks for stepping up so quickly. I look forward to Bodhi's future.
As Enlightment takes turns to being more not light weight I still love Bodhi Linux and hope future releases will be as good as they are now!
ReplyDeleteJeff - thanks for all your hard work, and for creating a beautiful and functional distro in Bodhi. Good luck in your future endeavors.
ReplyDeleteYes! That's what I wanted to hear! Great news!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the final legacy release to be ready! Good luck to the new dev team!
ReplyDeleteWill you still be hosting this blog?
ReplyDeleteI will still be writing here, but likely about more non-Bodhi related things. Bodhi release announcements and such will move to the Bodhi website directly one their new site is ready.
DeleteI thought everything was given to sparkylinux and bodhi will be sparky?
ReplyDeleteNot sure who told you this, but they were wrong.
DeleteBodhi has been my main OS for over a year and this worries me. I hope the system is now on hands as good as yours. Thank you for the Bodhi I know and currently use.
ReplyDeleteFrom Brazil.
Dank je wel Jeff, Bodhi is fantastisch!
ReplyDeleteGreat news, Jeff!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for all the effort you and your family have put into creating and supporting Bodhi.

So who took over? What are they doing for the project? Is there another release date scheduled?
ReplyDeleteSee here.
Delete@Jeff : still, it's weird that your name is still listed as "Project Manager/Lead Developer" on Bodhi web site.
ReplyDeleteAnd early december, there's still no new version of Bodhi ... six months after the RC1 ! :(
RC1 is plenty stable. I am working with the new folks to get things moving.
